Black Acre Brewing Co. was founded by a group of friends with a passion for making great beer. Once content just brewing for family and friends, Black Acre is now looking to expand into a commercial operation, but they need your help in order to do so.

The first phase is acquiring a 1 barrel brewing system to run test batches and specialty beer runs on, purchasing kegs, getting all the necessary state and federal permits, and doing market research to select the optimal location in the downtown Indianapolis area. We are looking for fellow beerlanthropists to get in on the ground floor of this exciting endeavor.

Check out the left side of this page for a list of the rewards we are offering in return for pledges. In order to make this dream come true, we'll need to raise at least $8,000 by the end of 2010. If we don't reach our goal, all of the donated money will be return to those who invested. The more money we raise over our goal, the closer we are to quitting our day jobs and making beer for you full time.

Everything that people at the $50 level get, plus you become an official card carrying member of the Black Acre Backers. This membership allows you to try small batch special Black Acre Brewing beers brewed just for you and allows you to attend special private events.

Steal our Recipes: Upon request we will provide any fellow home brewers with 5-gallon scaled recipes of everything we brew in the first year. Visit us and we will even give you samples of our yeast strains.

Everything that people at the $100 level get, but you also get the opportunity to oversee the brewing of the beer of your choice on our shiny new equipment. You will receive instruction throughout the whole process and be able to take home 5 gallons of your brew in either bottles or a keg. If you are not local, you can tell us what to brew and we will stream the session live throughout the process.

Framed posters of one of the beer labels art by a local Indiana artist. It will be signed by the artist and the brewers.

Everything that people at the $100 level get. We will aslo travel to your location (within 4 hours travel from Indianapolis or airfare paid), and hold a personal beer dinner for you and a small group of your friends (4-8 people). Our beer will be paired with selections of gourmet food by a local chef during a five course tapas meal.

Everything that people at the $500 level get. In addition, you get to have the naming rights and art approval for one of Black Acre’s seasonal or specialty beers.
