A Lean Entrepreneur has already bought into Lean Startup, Customer Development, Design Thinking and other iterative, customer-centric methods of product development.
The lean entrepreneur wants to know how to apply these to their business.
The goal of The Lean Entrepreneur is to make iterative principles immediately actionable no matter what your industry, size, or stage. In other words: get readers started tomorrow.
Lean entrepreneurs include "intrapreneurs" in the Fortune 500. How do they engage these valuable methods for tackling product development as well as sales and marketing in uncertainty in spheres outside of technology-driven endeavors?
The book will provide a "map" and lexicon of concepts broadly applicable as well as illustrative examples of innovative approaches to industry-specific disruption.
Consumer packaged goods:  How Method used Lean Startup principles to drive innovation in an area thought to be permanently devoid of innovation: home-cleaning products.
Music & Artist Development: Why the producer and songwriters of Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Fuel, Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne, and Foreigner are abandoning traditional music development methods and are now actively framing the writing of hit songs and artist development in the context of "Minimal Viable Products" and Build-Measure-Learn. Investment & finance:  Due to global changes in technology and social media,
500 Startups is playing Moneyball for Startups so it can apply a cultural technology, Lean Startup, to its investment processes.
Non-profits:  Building a non-profit from scratch is radically different than executing at a large non-profit.  The non-profit space is ripe for internal disruption. How a non-profit grew using Customer Development and non-vanity metrics.
Social entrepreneurs:  Why one's vision of a better world needs to be tested & accompanied by "Getting Out of the Building".

Project Updates
Oct. 20
Hi everyone,
First off, thanks for your support. We are super excited about the book and want to thank you for being a big part of it.  We finished our final edits and now are tackling the remaining minutiae.
Over the next few days, the following will happen:
1) we will be transitioning over to a new community site, and we will create accounts for all of you there.  The new site will have additional content such as audio interviews and video -- which you will get access to.
2) we will be also moving to another marketing site -- and running a lot of experiments which we will share with you. We also want to experiment with affiliate marketing, so if you have a big blog or email list, let me know.  I will let you know more about this soon.
Here is a sneak peek of our new landing page:  http://markup.io/v/gx01akqtzzjq
3)  Last thing, we will create a survey where we make sure we get your names correct for inclusion in the book.  Look for it soon.
Thanks again for all your help, the next few months are going to be a lot of fun.

Hi everyone,
Quick update for you.  Brant & I are in the midst of our second round of edits, and making good headway to meet a deadline for tomorrow.
We have some neat-o stuff coming down the pipeline, namely, we will transition all of you to a new site that has audio interviews and video we have prepared especially for all of you.  Also, you will all get the PDF version of The Lean Entrepreneur, very literally, months before anyone else does.
If all goes well, our new site should be live within a week or so.
Then, we shift into serious sales & marketing mode, and we'd love your help with this.  So, if you can help us sell hundreds or even thousands of books or help get us attention from the media -- please DO let us know.
In the meantime, if you did not receive the PDF for the CustDev book - please do email me at hello@custdev.com so I can email you a code.
Thanks,
Patrick & Brant
