The Manhattan Dolls started with three women who were tired of waiting for work to find us, so we decided to create work for ourselves. Using the talents we've been trained in and putting our business and organizational skills to the test, we formed this 1940's swing-style vocal trio with the sound and feel liken to The Andrews Sisters. Stemming from the idea of the USO boosting morale and the spirit of the troops, we blossomed into a group that also performs difficult jazz pieces with big bands and small combos alike. Being entrepreneurial has been both a pleasure and a challenge, but of course we knew that going into it. By our one year anniversary in October 2010, we will have performed in 10 states and internationally in The United Kingdom so you could say we aren't letting any moss grow.

In an effort to become a household name (because who doesn't want to be a household name?), we need certain items to increase our marketability and that's where you come in! Everywhere we go, people ask us "Do you have a CD?", "When is it coming out?", "How can we take you home with us?" And we have to say "It's in the works and you will be the first to know when it's made." Please, don't make us out to be liars! We want to make a CD that we can share with those who ask, and keep the music of this important era ALIVE! It costs a pretty penny to make a CD these days and if we want to do it right, and of course we do, we need your help.

In addition to a CD, we need help getting to and from various events. Travel costs are what keep us from going absolutely everywhere we would like to and you have to be seen in this business in order to get more work. Often times, we are requested by non-profit organizations, veterans associations, and fundraisers and while these are the people we would love to work for, we can't afford to travel to them and they don't have the budget to get us there. Help us help these organizations! You could be our sponsor and you didn't even know it!
