Pitch
Sara is a teenage girl obsessed with Voodoo. It offers her comfort and provides her with a refuge from her day-to-day life. She has also had unexplainable reoccurring dreams from a young age. Sara's school friends make fun of her depth and darkness, her pervert foster brother thinks she's crazy, and her foster parents prefer not to think of her at all.
Then one day a young man named Boli Shah contacts her. Shah warns her that she is in danger, that a man named Baron Samedi, guardian of the underworld, has risen into the world of the living and wants her dead.
Sara is Ogunte, the warrior path to Yemalla. She is the only one who can cross over to deadside, she is the only one that can stop him.
Introduction
We invite you to become a supporter of an amazing new TV show we are producing to give away for free to the world. The show deadside is a supernatural drama/action show based on Voodoomythology and lore. Think Buffy meets Supernatural.The show is being developed by SL8IT Productions in partnership with VODO.
VODO is an international distributor of Creative Commons works, and has been in development since 2008 and was produced in conjunction by the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation, with the support of Arts Council UK, Emerald Fund and Goldsmiths College, London.
VODO's previous successes include The Yes Men Fix The World which was downloaded over 650,000 times and raised a further $20,000 for a follow up film; and Pioneer One which was downloaded over 2,000,000 times, raised a further $30,000 for the second episode and won the prestigious Best Drama award at the New York TV Festival.
