Our Story

Two months ago I started teaching a group of inner city kids at a church in St. Louis Missouri.  These kids come from low income homes, homes with single parents, or group homes.  With little to no income, these kids would not be able to enroll in a martial arts program at a regular martial arts school.  With no one else to be their role model, these kids could end up in jail, or worse.  By becoming their instructor, I have become their role model for what a person can, and should do, to be a productive member of society, and while martial arts is not the only way to achieve this goal, it instills the discipline, both physical and mental, that they will need to rise above the situation they are currently in.

The Impact

By helping these kids, showing them a better way to live through the martial arts, we are giving them a strong moral code and the will power to overcome any obstacles in their way.  With the education they get in the martial arts, learning about ancient societies where these arts originated from, we hope to inspire them to continue to learn.  Getting them to stay in school, pursue college and lend their hands to other social organizations in their neighborhoods and towns, they will improve their small section of the world, and in time, all of the world.

What We Need & What You Get

We are seeking money for uniforms, equipment, and floor mats.  We currently train in the basement of a church, and would like to one day have our own building, but first things first.  Uniforms will be purchased to help the kids feel that they are a part of the group, and to help instill discipline.  Equipment such as kicking shields and mats for the floors would allow us to train harder and more effectively.  So far all of the funding for equipment comes from myself and using the equipment I own already.  

Once we are firmly established in one location, the program will branch out and accept more students who would normally be unable to sign up for a martial arts program, by adding more locations and instructors.
