Half Marathon for Burrito Babes

BrowseNon-ProfitSocial

Sarah and Taleen are the founders of Burrito Babes, a non-profit restaurant with the mission to build stronger communities by providing local, sustainable Mixican Style gourmet world burritos that bring the social awareness and the opportunity to make a large-scale change with each burrito purchase.
Currently, Burrito Babes is still in development while Sarah and Taleen finish up their Master in Social Work degress from the USC School of Social Work in May 2012. Running in this race will give us the start-up funds needed to get the burrito eating contest off the ground. Sarah will be running the Hollywood Half Marathon while Taleen races in the 5K.
Our First Annual Burrito Eating Contest will be held in Santa Monica on April 21, 2012. The contest will help us raise funds to further establish Burrito Babes and to help raise awareness around hunger related issues. We hope to partner with a local organization to begin practicing our mission and uniting our community. We will begin marketing in March through Facebook, Twitter, radio, flyers, and friends and family to get the word out and people excited about Burrito Babes! <3
To fund our contest, we will be running in the race with a goal to raise $1,000. This money will go directly towards permits, food, and marketing supplies. Any remaining funds will carry over to Burrito Babes' development budget. None of your donation will be used towards race fees.
Thank you for your love and support! We are really excited to see how Burrito Babes can make a difference in the community and look forward to your donation. Eat, Give, Love.
