Any contribution amount is welcome. For all contributions, you will receive a "Special Thanks" mention in the end credits. My name is Aaron Barksdale. For years I have had the dream of being a filmmaker, a writer, director, producer of movies, whether my own or someone else's. However, sometimes we have to put dreams on hold while we take care of the responsibilities of life. I have 2 beautiful children, and a wonderful wife, so you see my responsibilities. Then I learn about a program that Stephen King offers to independent filmmakers, I take a chance, and BAM!, I have an opportunity land in my lap.I will be investing my own money in this project, as well as blood, sweat, and tears (not to mention the countless hours sacrificed away from my family.) The ImpactAs an independent short film, that will be used for film festival entries, my goal is to not only succeed for myself, but for those who work with me so that I might help them achieve their dreams of acting, directing, writing, etc. Every person on my film will have the opportunity to advance, even if I do not. Films shown at festivals often times get recognized for MANY things, the writing of the script, the actors portrayal of the characters, the actors' abilities to take direction, the director, the cinematographer, I could go on, but I believe you see the point.Often times people say I look like Kevin Smith. While I joke with them that an overweight guy with a beard and glasses automatically looks like Kevin Smith, I do take it as a complement. Because I love Kevin Smith's films. In fact, he is one of my inspirations, his movie "CLERKS" was a film fest favorite that led him to produce a long series of films, including an Oscar-award winning film "Good Will Hunting." Not to mention the friendships that he garnered with a couple of young, aspiring actors that later went on to become both the writers and stars of the above movie, but also extremely loved by America and the film community. So, you see, I'm not just doing this film for my own dream, but the dreams of others.
